National Cuban Sandwich Day Comes Early: BOGO Cubanos + 3 Festivals to Catch Us At This August

August is stacked, and we mean that in the best way. Between a citywide sandwich holiday and a full slate of festival appearances, there are plenty of reasons to track down the Cubano X-Press truck this month. Here's everything you need to know.

Buy One Cubano, Get One Free — Friday, August 21st

Technically, National Cuban Sandwich Day falls on August 23rd. But we're not the type to wait around for a Sunday to celebrate, so we're kicking the weekend off early. On Friday, August 21st, every Cubano at our Belleville Ave location is buy one, get one free, all day long.

No coupon, no catch. Just bring an appetite and maybe a friend, because you're going to want to share this one (or keep the extra sandwich for yourself!).

If you haven't had our Cubano yet, this is the excuse you've been waiting for. Slow-roasted pork, ham, Swiss, pickles, and mustard, pressed until the bread is crackling. It's the sandwich that put us on the map in Essex County, and it's the reason regulars from Bloomfield, Nutley, and Montclair keep coming back.

Lunar Faire at Jungle Habitat — Saturday, August 15 @ 5pm

West Milford, NJ. A night market with an outdoor, wooded backdrop. We're bringing the truck out for the evening crowd.

Andy Grammer Concert at Freehold Showgrounds — Saturday, August 22 @ 7pm

Concert-goers in Freehold, come hungry before the show. We'll be parked and ready.

Von Thun Farms — Saturday, August 29 & Sunday, August 30, 10am–5pm

438 Route 57 West, Washington, NJ. A full weekend at the farm, both days, all afternoon.

Can't Make an Event? We've Got You Covered at the Truck

Between festival stops, we're still serving out of Belleville. If Cuban food truck fare in Essex County is what you're after, we're a short drive from Bloomfield, Nutley, Montclair, Clifton, and Newark, and we're easy to find on ChowNow for pickup.

We also run a full breakfast menu Wednesday through Saturday starting at 7am, so if you're an early riser, there's a reason to come by before the lunch rush too.
